One day it’s a gorgeous sunny day, the next it’s raining cats and dogs. Welcome springtime in the northern hemisphere! Rather than worry about the weather (it’ll sort itself out soon, promise), let’s do something else. Like, oh the #writeastorychallenge for the month of May!
Not sure if you’re up to writing a story? No problem! Use the prompts for journal writing or free writing. Actually, all that’s required is that you have fun and keep on writing!
Join us in May as we write a story, once scene at a time!
How to Play #writeastorychallenge
Here’s how to you to play along for the Write A Story Challenge – May Edition:
- Each day use the prompt word and write one to three sentences that include it. How you use the prompt in your scene is up to you!
- Post your newest scene to Instagram or to Facebook.
- Use the hashtag #writeastorychallenge.
- Tag us so we can cheer you on!
By the end of the month, you’ll have a short story of about 1,000 to 1,500 words.
Wait! What if I don’t like that day’s prompt? No problem! Substitute it with one of the Bonus Words. But there’s a catch (isn’t there always): you can only substitute a daily prompt up to ten times without repeats.
