Summers over, schools in session, and #writeastorychallenge is back! We’ve made some changes to the printables – hopefully, it’ll make it easier to use for everyone – but the rules are the same!
Not sure if you’re up to writing a story? No problem! Use the prompts for journal writing or free writing. Actually, all that’s required is that you have fun and keep on writing!
The “official” guidelines & printables are at the end of the post.
Join us in September as we write a story, one scene at a time!
How to Play #writeastorychallenge
Here’s how to you to play along for the Write A Story Challenge – September Edition:
- Each day use the prompt word and write one to three sentences that include it. How you use the prompt in your scene is up to you!
- Post your newest scene to Instagram or to Facebook.
- Use the hashtag #writeastorychallenge.
- Tag us so we can cheer you on!
By the end of the month, you’ll have a short story of about 1,000 to 1,500 words.
Wait! What if I don’t like that day’s prompt? No problem! Substitute it with one of the Bonus Words. But there’s a catch (isn’t there always): you can only substitute a daily prompt up to ten times without repeats.
Ready? Set. Write!
